Hey, we could put 0,0 at the center and return polar coordinates. :-)
Or, we could map the image onto a 4D manifold...

I vote we let Dave pick one out of a hat and get it over with or start
start a seperate list ([e-mail] :-).  Maybe
alt.religion.computers is the best place to take this up.
